The Meneghello Industrial Group City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the re-signing of Captain Jordan Wellsteed for the 2026 NBL1 West Season.

“I’m always grateful to sign with the Wolves, this place is my second home. I’m at that stage where I have no desire in basketball other than to contribute to winning, in whatever capacity that may be. I think with a fresh new coaching staff, new style of play, new mentality and the growth I’ve seen in some of the younger boys, we’ve got an exciting year ahead of us.

“The journey has been amazing really. It started with a lot of team success winning an SBL championship in 2015 and making the grand final a few season in a row which is always fun when you’re young, even with playing a limited role. Fast forward to the past couple of seasons and having a bigger role on court, being captain which is something I never imagined, it’s been great.

“There’s been a few heartbreaking ends to our seasons along the way but my teammates, the staff and the community at the Wolves always keep me motivated to come back. I wouldn’t be still playing if it wasn’t with such a great group that we have and if I wasn’t hungry to win another championship.”

“To me what keeps the Wolves striving to be the best is the expectations. Although we’ve had up and down years during my time at the Wolves, every year has had the same level of expectations. We play this game for one reason and one reason only and that’s to win. Sure your going to come up short more often that not but that has never changed what’s expected of the playing group and the standard of which we operate at.”

The definition of someone who Bleeds Green, Jordan has been a key player in the long-term success of the Wolves since his debut for the then Wanneroo Wolves during the 2014 SBL season. Closing in on his 300th game this year, Jordan has seen immense success for the Wolves, captaining us to two Preliminary Finals in the last three years. During his time with The Pack, he has also been a part of one Championship and four more Grand Finals.

A player who brings undeniable intensity and leadership to the Wolfpack, Jordan is always formidable on the defensive end, often guarding some of the biggest names in the NBL1 West. Wolves fans will be excited to see Jordy lead The Pack once again for the 2026 season.

“We’re thrilled that Jordan will continue his long‑standing commitment to our program, reinforcing the stability, culture, and competitive edge that he has helped build over many years.

“As the longest‑serving member of our current group, Jordan’s influence stretches far beyond his on‑field contributions. He has become a cultural anchor — a steady presence who embodies what our club stands for.

“Widely regarded as the ultimate team-first player, Jordan’s focus has always been simple: do whatever is best for the team and the club. His selflessness, leadership, and unwavering standards have shaped the environment around him, inspiring teammates and setting the tone for what excellence looks like.

“As we move into the next phase of our program, Jordan will play a pivotal role in defining the standards and expectations that drive our success. His voice, experience, and commitment will continue to elevate the group and push our club forward.”
