The Meneghello Industrial Group City of Joondalup Wolves are proud to announce the signing of 6’6 Lynx centre and international baller Yemiyah Morris!
“It feels great to sign with the Wolves in 2026. I’ve heard so many great things about this club.
I’m looking forward to coming in, getting to know the girls and the club, whilst working on just getting better. I’m really looking forward to trying to win a championship.
I’m going to bring a very dominant post presence and shot blocking. Defence wins ball games, so that will be shown a lot”
Currently signed to the Perth Lynx for the 2025/26 WNBL Season, Yemiyah is an imposing presence across the court, whether it’s blocking opposition shots or collecting offensive rebounds. Her time with the Lynx so far has seen her average 5 rebounds and 1.7 blocks across 15 games.
Before signing with the Lynx, Morris made her Australian debut for the Sydney Flames during the 2024-25 WNBL Season. Showing her competitive nature, her best performance came against the Adelaide Lightning, where she scored 15 points, alongside 14 rebounds and 3 blocks. Across her season for the Flames, Yemiyah averaged 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.
Women’s Head Coach Mitch Langford spoke on the signing of the US-centre.
“Securing Yemiyah was a major priority for us, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the Wolfpack for the 2026 season.
“At 6’6”, she brings elite size and talent, giving us a cornerstone piece to build around moving forward. Yemiyah will have a significant impact on both ends of the floor as an elite shot blocker, offensive rebounder, and defensive presence, while also bringing valuable international experience and WNBL exposure over the past two seasons.
“Beyond her on-court ability, she is an outstanding person who genuinely cares about her teammates, the club, and the wider community.”
Alongside her WNBL time, Yemiyah also brings significant international experience to the Wolfpack, having played in the Czech Republic, Mexico, Greece, Israel, Türkiye, and Taiwan. Yemiyah began playing US college basketball for Cochise College, West Virginia University, and Mississippi State University, playing a crucial role in each of these teams.
Yemiyah is our first Women’s player signing ahead of the 2026 NBL1 West Season. To follow all the upcoming NBL1 West and Wolves Action, head to the Wolfpack’s Facebook and Instagram Pages.
