The Meneghello Industrial Group Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the re-signing of Wolves Junior Luca O’Brien for the 2026 NBL1 West Season.
“It is always an honour and a privilege to re-sign and play for the Wolfpack, and I’m excited to see how the team and new coaching staff performs this upcoming season. I’m looking to build on my consistency this season, whether it’s scoring or playmaking ability. I want to be dependable and steady, week in, week out.
“This season you can expect to see someone who picks up full court on defence, makes the right play for the team each possession, as well as someone who contributes to winning basketball!”
Luca is a committed and hardworking player who has been with our NBL1 Men’s program since the age of 15. He has become known around the Wolfpack for consistently showing his ability to lead with confidence whilst always striving to improve his game on court.
Alongside appearing in our Men’s NBL1 side, Luca also set a high standard for out D-League side, scoring 71 points across his 15 games for the season.
Wolves fans will be excited to see Luca hit the court yet again for the Wolfpack during the upcoming NBL1 West Season.
Men’s Head Coach Lucas Allen spoke on re-signing Luca for the upcoming season.
“Luca O’Brien is a Wolves junior who has lived the entire pathway, and now he’s beginning to reap the rewards of the work he’s put in over the years. It’s always special to see one of our own rise through the system.
“Luca is a tremendous worker, and he’s shown he has the capability to be a genuine impact player on the defensive end. His effort, discipline, and commitment to defending at a high level give him a real point of difference.
“He’s only just starting to scratch the surface of what he can become. Luca has a promising career ahead of him, and we’re excited to help him continue developing into the player we know he can be.”
