New to the game of Basketball?

Are you too old for Aussie Hoops?

Want to build your skills and confidence before joining a team, or get some extra coaching alongside your current team?

Hoops Academy is designed for developing players who want to build their basketball skills, confidence and understanding of the game in a fun and supportive environment.

For players who are new to basketball, the aim is to get them to a point where they feel comfortable and confident joining a team and playing in our Junior Domestic Competition. We understand that stepping into your first team or season can be overwhelming, with new rules, terminology, skills and game situations to learn.

For players who are already part of a team, Hoops Academy provides an opportunity to receive additional coaching, work on their individual skills and continue building their understanding of the game outside of their regular team environment.

Sessions focus on the fundamental skills, rules and concepts of basketball, with plenty of opportunities for players to put what they learn into practice through game-based activities and gameplay.

Most importantly, Hoops Academy provides an environment where players can learn, make mistakes, ask questions and build their confidence without the pressure of game day.

The program is open to players born between 2012 and 2016, with only 24 places available each term.
